Edale Gathering Wedding // Jenny and Chris

Oh Jenny and Chris, what an absolute belter of a couple and what an absolute belter of a wedding.

I absolutely love shooting up at the Edale Gathering - a venue marked by its rustic setting and unique place in the heart of the Peak District.

This isn't our first visit to the Edale Gathering but it was our first wedding with the ceremony taking place in the barn attachment. Jenny and Chris decorated with Tibetan prayer flags which reflected the love of adventure and trekking in the great outdoors. The whole day really paid homage to, nature and the outdoors from Jenny's dress to the handmade steel rings from Sheffield to the two guests who arrived in mountain rescue gear just in case they needed to rush out and save someone on the mountains.

Instead of a traditional cake, they opted for a stacked cheese tower - always something that I absolutely love as a fan of the savoury arts. They then followed this up with a build your own pizza experience for evening food…. Again, I'd be lying if I didn't say this was my favourite wedding food of all time…. Pizza is the best.

The views over Edale Valley are stunning with just a short walk (and hop over a stream) you are quickly able to take some height and taken the expense of nature that surrounds the venue. we don't often like to take our couples away from the venue for too long so it's fantastic to have this resource so close to the party. It really does make for a wonderful tranquil experience in the middle of what can sometimes be a very high energy day.

I absolutely love the Peak District. It's very much a second home for me as a climber but it's also somewhere I love as a photographer. It's just stunning in both sunny warm conditions but when it shows it's dark and moody side I absolutely love that too.

Fortunately, this time around we got nothing but amazing weather and were able to capture some fantastic and exclusive memories right in the heart of Derbyshire.
